My last post was all about my sister, and how my many years of hero worship have shaped me. Sort of. Anyway, I got thinking about how grateful I am for the people in my life, and how the internet has made it possible for me to get to know a lot of cool people that I would have been unlikely to encounter otherwise.
Yay for the internet!
I'm also very grateful for my local library branch. I can walk there when the weather is good. The people are kind and friendly, most of the tables have power outlet access, and I can hear the church bells from next door if get to caught up in writing and forget to check my watch. I love that it's never to cold or too hot, and unlike the coffee shop, none ever speaks to me unless it's almost closing time. I love the big OED that sits on a former church lectern near the corner where I write. Oh, and we mustn't forget the books. *mentally wallows in books*

Now, down to business.
Title: "My Boy Blue" I think. I won't know for sure until it's done.
Word count: 1518 Yes, 1518
What pleased me: Just writing again. It's like a drug.
Downside: If the first act is 1518 words, the draft will need some cutting, I expect.

Started reading Truesight by David Stahler Jr. So far, so good. The blurb on the back promises that it will remind us of "the dangers of fundamentalism." I'm not sure how that bodes as far the story is concerned. I hate when a writer tries to drop Great Truths on my head like anvils, so I'm hoping it's more subtle than preachy.
