1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?:
I took Belly dancing. I went to Mardi Gras. I met some cool people I had never met before. I learned that if I get motivated enough I can do good things (or at least get good things started, like fund-raisers, etc.)It was a good year for firsts.
1. b) What did you do that you hadn't done in a long time?
I talked about what I think and believe with people in real life, and didn't worry that they'd blackball me and my kids. I can't remember the last time that happened.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't make any last year. This year, I think I will.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Two of the mommies in our Home/unschooling group had babies.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.
5. What countries did you visit?
LOL! The Independent Republic of New Orleans ;)
6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
A place to live with a room for each of my boys. We've been in these digs too long, though I do like cozy living.
7. What dates from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
April 23rd, when a new friend I'd made over the last several months had to go back to London. I still miss her.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I wrote a lot more words in 2010 than I had in previous years, by a wide margin, though I didn't quite get to the end of my novel. *sigh* I learned some significant things abouyt myself, and about how I think.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I didn't quite finish my novel.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing major.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My new phone. It is awesome. Also, I bought some new sun dresses that are comfy like woah and kind of sexy, too. I love wearing them.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My boys. They made friends and used their status as leaders in the HS group to help integrate kids who were less comfortable just jumping in.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
The umbrella term "NewsCorp" covers a lot, and BP of course.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Health insurance. No, really.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Intuitive Awakening class and personality profiling/hacking. That is some interesting crap.
16. What song will always remind you of 2010?
Even though it was old before this year, "Wake Me Up When September Ends" really resonated with me this year, and I played it a LOT.

a) happier or sadder? At least as happy, but more stressed
b) thinner or fatter? Slightly thinner

Well, I spent New Year's Day trying on all teh clothes in my closet and cleaning like a mad woman. There was cash in some of my clothes' pockets. It was a good day.

I fell into the most powerful fannish obsession since the LotR movies, but that is not the same thing.

I really enjoyed Haven, Sherlock and Dexter, and the series finale of Lost

No. I try very hard not to hate anyone, and I've done well this year.

Leviathan Wakes by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, writing as James S. A. Corey. YOU can read it in April, I think. ;P

Kate Miller-Heidke, I think.

A feeling of purpose.

A slightly bigger place to live.

Way too many capris and tank tops.But I discovere dthe joys of the pretty little sun dress - comfy like jammies and very versatile.

My Beloved and my friends.

I cannot even say it, for the shame.

The oil spill, and the Prop 8 trial.

I miss Ben and Lindsay and Mark and Wendy. And my mom.

Probably Steph Moriarty - I squeed when I read her name on the note she gave me, and she had a good giggle over me being a Sherlock Holmes geek.She went back to London about the time the Sherlock series aired, so we didn't get to chat about it much. LOL

Yes, despite ending it mostly broke. I made a lot of friends and realized a lot of things about myself.

Being at Ben and Lindsay's in October and sharing an awful bottle of elderberry wine with Lindsay and Wendy. They are so much fun to talk to.

Coming home from that trip to more uncertainty.

Several free concerts in teh parks around here. Nawlins is a musical town.

I guess I learned that it is good to use your strengths and accept and make work-arounds for your weaknesses.
Spent today taking everything out of my closet and trying it on. My closet is now organized and I have a bag of clothes to donate. That's good. I found money in some of the pockets. That is also good.
I cleaned the house a lot, too. Just had the bug, I guess.
I had a lovely night last night, writing and chatting with my BFF via Skype between my Dawning of 2011 and hers. Even so far away, it was fun to get to spend time together. I am so blessed with awesome friends!
