I decided to have my morning coffee smoothie after all, but I used half the beans, which will hopefully weaken the espresso. I still feel a bit logy, but I'm not biting anyone's head off and my BP has remained normal to low, so that is good.

I realized that it has been over 90 days since the anthology with my story "Intervention" was published, and since I haven't gotten my contributor copy or payment yet, I sent a short email to ask about it. I'm curious about the book, and somewhat stoked at the juxtaposition of my life and that sort of story. The whole caffeine thing has made me feel even more sympathy for Blue. Addiction is a bitch.

Unless it's a book addiction, which is perfectly wholesome and good. ;)
Speaking of which, over at GeekaChicas, I've finally got

In any case, this was the article that first gave me hope that GeekaChicas might be more than a doomed fever-dream, because it so perfectly typified what I wanted the site to be about -- smart women sharing their passion, personality and opinions with the web at large. :) Of course, every article is different, because every writer is different (I say that because I don't want to give the impression that everyone who contributes to the website must sound like Cecily). But this was the first one anybody sent me, and it made me very happy. A sign that maybe I wasn't crazy, that we might actually be able to build the website I wished existed, instead of waiting for someone else to do it. *g*
I'm having fun and I think the contributors are having fun, so as long as it's fun, it will be a good thing. :D

The house has moved past the ammonia smell to more of a wet dog smell. I figure if I shampoo the carpet a couple more times, we might graduate to "tent that's been in storage too long" or maybe even "under the train trestle" by next week. Until then, there's incense.

Sympathy to you about a smelly house. It's something that can be fixed, but still. Blech. Thank goodness for incense. :)

I meant every word of it, dear. I'm really beginning to settle in and have fun with it, and that is just a great thing!
