Oh no...hope nothing valuable was soiled.

Funny thing about memories...I can remember things from a few years back, but ask me something I did recently or a minute or two and I have a mental block....I think they call it "Momnesia".

Serious "Momnesia" for me, probably related the thyroid issues, too. It was super awful for a while.

I got it pretty bad just after I gave birth to my sons and it got progressively worse after the 3rd one. My hubby is forever getting annoyed that I ask the same question more than once. He says I sound like a broken record! LOL!

Ooooh. *worried look* Keep an eye on that one. That can also be a warning sign that dementia will hit later in life. Yeah, a bit of forgetfulness happens, especially after giving birth (I have two of 'em, so I feel your Momnesia pain!), but repetitive questions... just have someone keep an ear on ya.

Thanks will do. :) I'd hate it if I ended up with that serious illness.

My mother has full-blown dementia. It is NO FUN.

I'm so sorry to read/hear that. I can't even imagine how hard that must be for you and your family.

She doesn't seem to have the physically violent sort... but she's malicious. Very, very mean when it hits, and she has no concept that it's inappropriate. Also, extremely paranoid. Everyone is out to get her, and she'll accuse folks of things that never happened.

She's of the old school generation - you can't get her to a doctor to be diagnosed for this. She's not 'crazy' and won't be labelled crazy and blah blah BLAH... Blasted 1940s and 50s style institutions!

It's hard, but what's worse is knowing that she's already had it for over twenty years and her physical health is still top-notch. It means she really will be out of her damned mind before she goes, destroying relationships along the way... and no understanding of what she's done. That's the sucky part.

I'm so sorry you're having to cope with that. I had no idea. As hard as it was to see my mom's health fail and have to watch her slip away, it was comforting to know she was herself to the last. My grandmother got Alzheimer's, which was really hard sometimes.

Oh that's awful. I hope you have the patient to stick around and support her even if she doesn't want it cause she'll need it whether she likes it or not. I suppose you can support her from a distance where you and love ones are not provoked to be driven away by her malicious actions. All the best with everything though. :)
