I am missing my Beloved in the most ridiculous way possible
That is, by being cranky and snappish. My poor sons. They don't hear me telling them to do things unless I raise my voice. It's like selective hearing. Wee Boy had a friend over, and the three of them played a video game. The friend and Wee Boy both have a tendency to be quite loud, and Big Boy was even noticeably audible most of the afternoon. Heh.
After the screaming became a constant roar, I finally broke down and said, "PLEASE DO NOT SCREAM EVERYTHING YOU SAY." The not-screaming lasted almost a full minute. I counted it a victory. O_o

The Big Boy has taken an interest in the British TV show Merlin, so I've been snuggling up to watch an episode with them after dinner the last two evenings. Wee Boy tolerates it, but keeps asking to see more Samurai Champloo. We had mistakenly let him watch the first episode with us, not realizing how inappropriate later episodes became. Don't get me wrong -- I don't want to be one of those parents who tries to protect her children from stories that have sexual elements, if those elements are a true reflection of life. But there are several episodes with various characters being sold to brothels and things... and I'm not mentally prepared to deal with the questions that might raise. I don't think, "Men are bastards" is a life lesson I want to pass on, and I fear that might be what comes out, even though I know it's unfair. "People are bastards" might be closer to the truth, but I'm mopey and cross right now, and I know it.
Wednesday is my big "running errands" day, and Thursday is my go-get-medical-tests day, and I'm not really looking forward to either. *sigh*

I read your paragraph and realized that you weren't talking about Merlin when you mentioned the sexual elements. :P My dirty mind.
