A Twist of Things to Come

My mother has this happen occasionally, almost always as a result of a trauma like banging her arm or hand on something hard. She's known to have a clotting disorder, though, as well as thyroid issues (am I right in remembering you were recently diagnosed with a thyroid problem or am I thinking of someone else?).
