Brain Squeezings

I'm very happy to have carved out some time from my website obsession to mostly finish another episode of HMOWK. It's getting near the end, and I have to make sure I concentrate to get it right, because if I blow it now, it is well and truly blown. ;) I'll tweak a bit more before it goes to beta, but I'm feeling pretty good about it. It's kind of harsh and emotional in places-- not something that's easyto write when the floor is flooded and I'm obsessing over the website, but I managed.

Speaking of the website, I was thrilled to post [livejournal.com profile] deadcatvagrant's hilarious review of Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop! (for the Wii). I'm not much of a gamer, but it had me giggling like mad. Zombie parrots? REALLY?

Plus, I just a got a new one from [livejournal.com profile] jedi_diplomat that compares operating systems to frozen desserts. It's awesome! I'm still working on learning stuff about being a webmistress, but Jax continually inspires me to be less afraid, and just go after it.

Today I learned that sometimes some of Joomla's control options are not shown to me when I visit the admin side in Firefox. (I'm sure it has something to do with my settings.) In order to follow my step-by-step instructions on how to publish poll results, I had to switch to IE before I could get it done. But I did it! The closed Poll results are available, and a new poll is up! Woot!

*shrug* Gotta take your victories where you can get them! ;)

In any case, I think I'm getting to a place where I can more successfully juggle the webmistress stuff, the writing, the site-building AND still generate some original video content. As well as the mom/wife stuff. LOL!

Wish me luck.

Going to have to do a short review of World of Goo. It certainly fits the theme of the website. *pets evil, evil game*

Oh, you are the bestest! I have a few things stacked up for the next few days, so there's no rush, but I loved how the last one turned out. By the way, I'm going to take a crack at fixing the About Us page, and I wondered what you'd like your blurb to say. You can email me, if you like. ;) (It will probably be a few days before I get around to fixing that mess, so, no rush there either.)

No rush here, either. I'm only on the second chapter of the game. It gets far more evil from here. *G*

Uhm... lemme think about the blurb. Might wind up saying what my Dreamwidth blurb says. :)

What is this world of Goo game? Do I needs to get it for my Wii? I keep meaning to review Wii Fit but so far I'm finding things that are more annoying with it than anything else. LOL...I like the games but all the other stuff is more um...really? You think that's gonna make me lose weight? Yeah ok....

Sorry, but still I *loved* the zombie parrots. Really there should be more of those in the world. Especially when they drop hand grenades on you.

I thought the zombie parrots thing was great, really. Not that I'm much of a gamer, but it seems like a sort of WTF? thing, in a good way. :D

*cackle* Yes, you need to acquire World of Goo. It's a physics simulator with little balls of goo. Your job is to rescue as much of the goo as possible by building goo structures so they can reach distant pipes and escape.

Zombie parrots ARE awesome. *G*

Take your time, sweetie -- this supposed to be fun and all. ;)

Oh, I know. I have to come up with a review for World of Goo that isn't "OMG BUY THIS GAME IT IS TEH COOL!" ;)
