A Twist of Things to Come

That has been my day, today. Good news, bad news.

"Hey, [Big Boy}! I'll be picking you up from school early... And taking you for a shot in the butt."

"Mom," says Wee Boy. "I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is I didn't pass my 10s timed test. The good news is, that was an April Fool."

The good news is, progress is being made on my website. The bad news is it's being made by my poor overworked husband over the modem in his cell phone after working 12 hour days. (And getting urgent calls from Africa in the middle of the night. Whence These Flowers?)

The good news is he loves this job and is very excited about the work he's doing. The bad news is miss him a lot, and am envious of his usefulness and enthusiasm. ;)

The good news is my kidney sonogram is tomorrow. The bad news is they have to estimate my portion of the bill because the insurance company won't tell them what it is. The good news is, whatever it is, I don't have to pay it all tomorrow.

The gloomy weather is not helping my mood, but we need the rain.

The good news is, I remembered to feed the dog today. The bad news is I'm pretty sure that I forgot to yesterday -- it's supposed to be the boys' responsibility, but I usually remind them.

The good news is, I've got three re-write openings to pick from for my novel. The bad news is, each of them sounds completely different, even though the story is the same.

*aarrgh*
