I take my Beloved to the airport in a little while. EEeep.
Here comes another bout of sleepless nights!
It's edging into winter in South Africa now. I keep telling myself it was great to have had him home for this long, but it's still hard to let him go.
The good news is that the Universe conspired to get a whole lot of random things done around the house before he left. Like, our gutter guy showed up at random this morning, and my honey also figured out why the freezer was leaking (defrost drain hole was plugged).
This past weekend, he changed our cell service to a new provider, so not only are we paying less (he doesn't need all those minutes now that he's phasing out his mortgage business) but I got a new phone for free! It looks like this:

I thought I wanted a white one, but they didn't have any in white and the white ones have orange accents and I dislike orange with an irrational passion. *has school colors flashbacks*
So, anyway, awesome phone and a pair of Nike Frees that I just love. They look like this:

In other news, I will be having a laser procedure on my right eye implant on Friday. A YAG laser capsulotomy. They told me that my chances of developing a posterior capsule opacity were really high because I was so young to have cataract surgery in the first place. My relative youth means I have a very good immune system, and the capsule is basically an immune response to the ocular implant. This explains it a little better:

Basically, my vision in my right now sucks. Things are as dark and dingy as they were before the cataract surgery, and the doctor deemed it bad enough for the YAG. The good news is, after the YAG, the capsule will not grow back. Ever. Now you would think it would, since the implant is still not made of my body's natural proteins, and my immune system is still quite healthy. But *shrug* it has never happened.
So, my vision is about to get LOADS better in my right eye. Again. I'm looking forward to it. Still 20/20 in the left eye. Wheeeeeee!
