In an odd coincidence, most of my novel chapters have titles that come from songs I like. This began partway through the first draft, and I always figured eventually I'd find lyrics or song titles that fit every chapter. (Mind you, this is the first story I've ever done where I even imagined having chapter titles, so I guess it is meant to be.)

For the first chapter of the re-write, I was drawing a blank. The setting has a lot to do with a magic show/mentalist act, and an illusion called "The Lady or the Tiger" is significant for a couple of reasons. So that was the title I slapped on it. Of course, a perceptive critter pointed out how cliche it was, and rightly so. But I figured I'd let it go for now.

THEN this morning, what to my wondering ears should appear, but this song (You Are What You Love by Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins) which I have loved for a long time, but had not heard in a while. (More of their awesomeness available from their MySpace Page. )

And *BLING!* There it was, big as life. ("No Great Illusion" that is.) I love it when a plan comes together.
Music:: You Are What You Love- Jenny Lewis
