Today on GeekaChicas we have Amalia the Savage's Marvel's Thor Volumes 1 and 2 a brief look at the comics and why some work while others don't. :)

I had a much more eventful weekend than I was expecting. Saturday was taken up by a quick (and quite chilly) trip to the Zoo, followed by my sweet hubby trying to take me to a noodle place that is apparently closed on weekends. Then we went shopping unexpectedly, and I was stricken with lust for a dress, which my Beloved would have gladly let me spend our grocery money to buy. *sigh* Sometimes it sucks to be a grown up. Seriously, though, the man would spend all our money on me and then have the nerve to be surprised that it was gone. He's super-smart in every aspect of his life with the small exceptions of budgeting and anything related to me. Sweet thing, he is.
Went to our first Mardi Gras parade in Metairie, Little Rascals. The krewe is made up of kids, mostly, and the throws were quite nice.I was having bad hair and wore a hat, which my hubby thought was 'cute' so he took half a dozen pictures of me instead of the parade. Though he did get a couple of the float that looked like Jabba the Hut's pleasure barge, complete with a bunch of folks in Star Wars baddie costumes. There was one in Boba Fett armor painted in the Saints' colors with fleur de lis on the shoulders.
You gotta love this town.

Turns out they are re-arranging the Mardi Gras parades so as not to distract from the Super Bowl, so our when/where guide to the parades is all out wrong now. This should be fun. Little Rascals took 3 hours or so, so I'm really expecting Bacchus or Endymion to be all-day affairs. We may not last them out, but we will remember to wear sunscreen.
Thoth's route goes right by where we are, so that won't require much advance planning, I hope.
