A Twist of Things to Come

With our gift guides all rolled out, GC is settling in for some holiday fun, with Pearce's In Case You Need Instructions on How to Jingle Bell Rock, which is full of awesome and bizarre Holiday music. Whee!

On a personal note, I've received some lovely cards in the mail, despite being a lowly worm who skipped out on the card-sending this year. My friends, you guys are gracious and I know you understand. :/ I live in hope that I'll manage New Year's cards, or an epiphany letter or some such.

First, there was the super-sweet card from narniadear, whom some of you may also know as the ever-witty Beatrice Blythe of GC. *waves* You guys don't even know what an encouragement she has been to me. When I first shared with her the idea of GeekaChicas, she became an instant booster. Her first article for the site, Confessions of a Book Addict: Sherwood Smith's Crown Duel made me happy, because it was exactly the kind of thing I wanted to publish, full of wit and personality. I waited to publish it until a week or two after the rollout, in the hopes it would get the audience it deserved and help set the tone for what was to come. She's never missed an opportunity to cheerlead when my energy flagged, and this gorgeous card is just another example of that. :) You'll have to take my word for it being pretty, on account of my scanner doesn't do the little plastic stained glass window thingy very well.

The other card, from the talented hedgegoth also happens to be one he posted online, so I can show it to you here. He does a lot of different things as an artist, but his Urban Dragons seem to be among his most popular subjects. Im sure you can see why.

He does lots of fantasy-themed work, and some of his dragons are somewhat more intense than these fine gentlemen. ;)
