We have yet another new Chica over at GC, the lovely and talented Amalia the Savage. Her first offering is up now, Comic Books, Evolution, and God. Way to jump in with both feet!

Basically, the website stuff is going EPIC all of a sudden. We have a bunch of new talent, phenomenal stuff to offer from our veterans, I got the webmail thing figured out with help from mackillian, and the stats were so high that it actually earned four times what it earns in a week YESTERDAY, with no ad clicks. Sure, we still haven't broken even, or, you know, earned enough from Adsense or Amazon Affiliates (either one) to have the minimum amount for an actual check to be cut. *snrk* But we're getting close.

The Scene Magazine launch party was fun. It was at the W hotel, very swank. The food was fabulous, and the drinks flowed freely. They know how to party in New Orleans, I tell you. The one drawback was that, by the time we left, people were packed in like high-fashion sardines, and the AC was struggling to cool the mass of humanity that was us.

I was, as they say here NOLA, "glistening". Also, my well-styled hair went *sproing* in the humidity. You could almost hear it, even over the obnoxious DJ. In any case, I met a fellow named Rit who teaches design and animation at a special hub school used by several High Schools in Jefferson Parish. The curriculum is project based, and I think Big Boy would love it. As we were waiting for the valet to bring our car, my Beloved took this picture of me:

My face looks like somebody buttered it. I guess that's what they mean by 'glistening.' Love the dress, though, and the shoes were great. (Though you can't see them in the picture.) Isn't it funny how a pair of shoes can make a difference in your attitude? I love those shoes.
