I was cracking up. I mean it. The pain, the enforced boredom (hurt to read for frak's sake. How is that fair? *shakes tiny fist at the gods*) the waking up six times a night after dreaming that various people and things are stabbing me in the head.
No foolin' -- hardly any sleep for three nights because of dreams of being stabbed in the head and waking up in pain.
Here's what I think happened. I've had drainage and a sinus thing brewing since Christmas. Sinus thing triggered a migraine. Migraine made me hold my head really stiff, making my old neck injury worse (it was probably worse after the last car accident, too).
Yesterday my sweet mother-in-law took me to her chiropractor, and even paid the bill. He took x-rays and tapped my back with his hammer-like dooley, especially the neck. my very first vertebra is/was twisted so far to the left it was pressing directly on my sub-occipital nerve, which explains the stabbing, irregular pain. Then she took me to her house, gave me hot packs for my back and neck and even let me nap a bit. We went back again in the afternoon.
THEN, my sweet, thrice-blessed, hopefully sister-in-law to be gave me something for pain, so I went to bed a little dopey, but did NOT dream about being stabbed in the head. Again. because three nights in a row is a bit much, is all I'm saying.
I've caught up on everyone's posts, and I'm feeling rather glad to be alive, the direct opposite of the past few days. I came up with a handle for myself on my website, which is good.
It will likely take me some time to get back into things.
Even though I know it is past the date in her part of the world, Happy Birthday
